Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and The Forehand Lab, Inc. for use of our app, website, and services. By using the lab, you agree to them — so please read them.
Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the lab, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the lab.
Who can use the lab
You must be at least 18 to create an account, or 13 or older with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the service under applicable law.
The service & beta status
The lab records and analyzes your tennis practice to measure outcomes and track progress. It is actively developed and currently offered in beta — features may change, be added, or be removed, and you may occasionally hit rough edges. We'll do our best to keep it working well.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Subscriptions, billing & refunds
- Founding membership is billed at the price shown when you join and renews automatically each year until you cancel.
- Price lock — your founding rate stays the same as long as your membership remains active, even if standard pricing rises.
- Cancel anytime — manage or cancel your subscription in your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term.
- 60-day refund — if the lab isn't for you, request a full refund within 60 days of your initial purchase, no questions asked.
We may change prices for future terms with advance notice. Taxes may apply based on your location.
Your content
Your session videos and data are yours. By using the lab, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content to provide the service — and, only if you allow it, to help improve our models (you can opt out anytime). You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to record at the courts where you play and that you don't capture others without their consent where required.
Acceptable use
- Don't reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the lab or its security.
- Don't use the lab to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Don't record people without the consent required where you are.
- Don't resell or share access in violation of these terms.
Our intellectual property
The lab — including the app, our computer-vision models, drills, designs, and brand — is owned by The Forehand Lab, Inc. and protected by law. These terms don't transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the right to use the service.
Health & safety
Tennis is physical activity that carries inherent risk. The lab measures where your shots land — it is not a coach, a medical provider, or a substitute for professional instruction. Consult a physician before starting or intensifying training, warm up properly, and play within your limits. You participate at your own risk.
Disclaimers
The lab is provided "as is" and "as available." While we strive for accuracy, we don't warrant that analysis is error-free or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Forehand Lab, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the lab. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You can stop using the lab and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these terms or to protect the service and its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses already granted, disclaimers, and liability limits) will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the lab evolves. When we make material changes, we'll post the new version here, update the date above, and notify you where appropriate. Continuing to use the lab after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located in Oakland, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
