Privacy Policy

Last updated · June 16, 2026The Forehand Lab, Inc.

The Forehand Lab measures your practice — and to do that, the app records and analyzes video of your sessions. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.

01

What this policy covers

This policy applies to The Forehand Lab mobile app, this website, and related services (together, the "lab"). "We," "us," and "our" refer to The Forehand Lab, Inc. By using the lab, you agree to the handling of information described here.

02

Information you give us

  • Account details — your name, email address, and password.
  • Profile — your self-rated level (e.g. 3.0–4.5) and the strokes and drills you choose to train.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of a charge and the last four digits of your card; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Messages — anything you send us through support, surveys, or the community.
03

Session video & swing data

This is the heart of the lab. When you record a session, the app captures video of you hitting and derives data from it — where each ball lands, depth past the service line, net clearance, in-court percentage, and pass/stay results per drill.

Analysis runs on your device and, where needed for accuracy or processing power, on our secured servers. Your raw session video belongs to you: you can review, download, or delete any session, and deleting a session removes its video from our active systems.

04

Device & usage information

Like most apps, we automatically collect technical information to keep the lab running: device model and operating system, app version, crash and diagnostic logs, and which features you use. This helps us fix bugs and improve the experience.

05

How we use your information

  • Run the analysis and show you your results, progress, and streaks.
  • Personalize drills and recommend the next level when you're ready.
  • Improve our computer-vision models — only with appropriate safeguards, and you can opt out (see Section 07).
  • Provide support, process billing, secure the service, and meet legal obligations.
06

How we share information

We share information only in these limited ways:

  • Service providers — cloud hosting, payment processing, and analytics partners who work on our behalf under contract.
  • People you choose — when you share a session or scores with a coach or hitting partner, you control what they see.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfers — if the company is involved in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

We do not sell your personal information.

07

Your choices & rights

  • Access & export — request a copy of your data.
  • Correct — update your profile and account details any time.
  • Delete — remove individual sessions, or close your account and have your data deleted.
  • Opt out of model training — keep your footage from being used to improve our models, in Settings.
  • Marketing — unsubscribe from promotional email at any time.

To exercise any of these, use the in-app controls or email damon@theforehandlab.com.

08

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Session video and derived data are retained until you delete them or close your account, after which they are removed from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must keep records to comply with the law.

09

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and routine security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your data and will notify you of a breach where required.

10

Children

The lab is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

11

Regional rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your information, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. We honor these requests as required by applicable law.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the lab evolves. When we make material changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date above, and we'll notify you in-app where appropriate.
